Regeneration of brownfield site is hoped to spark further investment in the area 

Developers Stanhope and housing association Network Homes have secured planning permission from Ealing Council for their joint venture housing scheme in Southall.

The c£200m development at Merrick Place, designed by Cartwright Pickard, will deliver 575 new homes, over 2000 square meters of office space and over 300 square meters of flexible commercial floorspace. The regeneration of the light industrial site next to Southall railway station will encompass four separate buildings of between 15 and 23 storeys.

The joint venture in the Southall Housing Zone of Ealing represents the first project between Network Homes and Stanhope to deliver innovative residential-led schemes. 35% of all residential units by habitable rooms will be affordable, with a tenure split of 30% London Affordable Rent and 70% Shared Ownership.

Situated close to the new Southall Crossrail station and less than a ten-minute walk from the centre of Southall, the development in Merrick Road is being hailed as a ‘gateway site.’ It’s hoped the scheme will help to trigger the transformational regeneration of Southall over the next decade, in line with Ealing Council’s aims. Indeed, several large sites nearby have been purchased by other developers.

Network Homes owns and manages over 20,000 homes across London, Hertfordshire and the South East. The housing association aims to deliver around 5,000 new homes by 2023.
