Homes England have confirmed the strategic partners set to help deliver the government’s new £39 billion Social and Affordable Homes Programme (SAHP).

33 partners will receive grant funding and work with the government’s housing and regeneration agency to deliver social and affordable homes across the country, outside of London.

The Social and Affordable Housing Programme 2026 to 2036 provides grant funding to support the capital costs of developing affordable housing in England (outside London).

Affordable housing is defined as ‘housing for sale or rent for those whose needs are not met by the market’ in the National Planning Policy Framework.

The 33 partners will join other partner organisations supporting delivery through the ten-year programme’s other funding route (Continuous Market Engagement) to create thousands of new homes.

Homes England Chief Executive, Amy Rees, said: “The strong demand for SAHP funding demonstrates the sector’s ambition to deliver as part of this once-in-a-generation opportunity to come together, alongside partners funded through the programme’s alternative Continuous Market Engagement (CME) route, to deliver thousands of social and affordable homes for people, families and communities across England.
