The integration into the larger housing association is complete

London and Hertfordshire social landlord Origin Housing is now fully integrated into Places for People Group (PfP).

The two-year long integration process since joining PfP in April 2024 is now complete, with Origin’s almost 9,000 homes – along with its colleagues – now fully part of PfP.

Origin Housing started life in 1924 as St. Pancras House Improvement Society, a charitable organisation founded to improve living conditions in the Somers Town area of London.

Origin’s colleagues have been retained as part of the integration, ensuring customers will continue to be supported by familiar teams who understand their homes and neighbourhoods, but enhanced by the resources of the PfP Group.

Places for People Group, which started in 1965, own or manage over 262,000 properties.

Greg Reed, group chief executive officer of Places for People, said: “This is a landmark moment for PfP. After two years of hard work, Origin Housing is now fully integrated into our organisation.

Our organisations share the same purpose and values, going beyond homes to support Communities to thrive, and we are proud to carry that legacy forward together.

“This merger is also an investment in people. Origin colleagues are now part of PfP, bringing invaluable local insight, expertise and trusted customer relationships – now backed by the scale and strength of the wider PfP Group.

“I’d also like to thank Carol Carter for leading Origin Housing for the last nine years, including through a period of major change, playing  a significant role in bringing our organisations together, and wish her the best in her retirement.”
